BUFFALO, N.Y. — Developers spent time Wednesday showing off more progress on Buffalo's East Side.
Construction will be starting on a $31 million affordable housing development on Jefferson Avenue just north of the Johnnie B Wiley sports complex.
Besides apartments, the two buildings are going to add some businesses to the area with commercial space, as well as a People Inc. recruitment office.
"People Incorporated is not new to the east side of Buffalo or to the 141st, but they are new to this particular area right here and I think it will be a huge benefit to the community," said Assemblywoman Crystal Peoples-Stokes, 141st District.
16 of the 89 apartments are going to be set aside for people with developmental disabilities.
