Cheektowaga police chief leaving to take post in North Carolina

Police Chief David J. Zack will retire his post in Cheektowaga to be the chief at the Asheville, North Carolina Police Department.

CHEEKTOWAGA, N.Y. — The Town of Cheektowaga Police Chief is stepping down take take a similar job in another state. 

Police Chief David J. Zack will retire his post in Cheektowaga to be the chief at the Asheville, North Carolina Police Department. 

Zack, who has served the Town of Cheektowaga for 33 years, will complete his last day for Cheektowaga on February 3 and then begin his new job in North Carolina on February 4. 

Zack posted on Twitter Tuesday saying he doesn't have the space to say just how much the men and women of the Cheektowaga Police Department mean to him. He also added that their hard work is what's giving him this new opportunity.
