Former owner of multiple Mexican restaurants pleads guilty to tax fraud

The total tax owed from March 2012 to November 2016 while Mucino was under-reporting is $205,108.02.

The former owner of four Mexican resturants pleaded guilty to tax fraud, Thursday.

Sergio Mucino, of Buffalo, pleaded guilty to one count of criminal tax fraud in the second degree for under-reporting the sales tax collected at his restaurants. 

Mucino is the former owner and operator of four Mexican restaurants: Don Tequila in Buffalo, El Agave in Cheektowaga, La Divina in Kenmore, and La Divina in Clarence.

The total tax owed from March 2012 to November 2016, while Mucino was under-reporting, is $205,108.02.

Mucino faces a maximum of 15 years in prison.
