Engineering Day event held at the Buffalo Science Museum

BUFFALO, N.Y. — Sunday was Engineering Day and the Buffalo Science Museum.

Students from the University at Buffalo were there to show kids what engineering clubs the university has to offer.

It comes during National Engineers Week, which is a time to recognize the work of engineers, technicians, and technologists.

This year's theme is "Welcome to the Future."

"For a very long time we've seen the image of an engineer or scientist being a white male in a lab coat and that is just not the case it's not true there's a lot more to science and our understanding of science than that one perspective and when we have a diversity of perspectives in engineering we come up with a lot greater solutions," said Gabrielle Graham, Buffalo Science Museum Engagement Manager.

This is the science museum's largest stem event of the year.

National Engineers Week continues until next Saturday, February 24.
