Saturday shooting in Buffalo sends 1 person to hospital

Police did not immediately provide the age of the person, who was taken by ambulance to Erie County Medical Center to be treated.

BUFFALO, N.Y. — One person was hospitalized Saturday morning after a shooting in the City in Buffalo.

The shooting happened shortly before 11 a.m. on the first block of Byrd Way, near William Street and Jefferson Avenue. That's where a male was shot in the leg, according to a spokesperson for the Buffalo Police Department.

Police have not yet released the age of the person, who was taken by ambulance to Erie County Medical Center to be treated.
