Niagara Falls resident pleads guilty to attempted murder of woman, shooting at police officer

Kalique Miller, a 19-year-old from Niagara Falls, will be sentenced on April 18.

LOCKPORT, N.Y. — A Niagara Falls resident entered a guilty plea in connection to two shootings in Niagara County.

Kalique Miller, a 19-year-old from Niagara Falls, entered the plea Wednesday in Niagara County Court, the county district attorney's office said. Miller faces up to 35 years in prison.

The first shooting happened on Nov. 10, 2022, in Niagara Falls, where Miller admitted to shooting a 22-year-old woman multiple times.

The second shooting happened on Jan. 18, 2023, in the Town of Niagara, where Miller admitted to firing at a police officer.

Miller pleaded guilty to charges that include attempted murder, attempted aggravated assault on a police officer, and two counts of criminal possession of a weapon.

“This defendant shot and nearly killed a young lady, then in a separate incident, fired at police. We will be asking the judge to impose the full 35 years for the safety of the community and because these crimes deserve it,” Niagara County District Attorney Brian Seaman said in a statement Wednesday.

Miller will be sentenced on April 18.
