Buffalo Police looking for help on 1988 cold case

Sonya went missing in September of 1988 and remains that positively matched hers were found in March of 1989.

BUFFALO, N.Y. — Buffalo Police are reopening a cold case from 1988 in hopes of finding new information on the disappearance of Sonya Yvette Archie. 

Sonya had been reported missing and was last seen in September of 1988. She was described as 5 feet 1 inches and weighed approximately 100 pounds. 

A year after her disappearance in March of 1989 the Buffalo Police Department had discovered remains that were positively identified as Sonya's by Kensington Avenue and Pauline Place in Buffalo.

If there is anyone who may have any information on the disappearance of Sonya Yvette Archie they are asked to please contact the Buffalo Police Department Homicide, and Cold Case Squad at (716)-851-4511. People may also utilize the confidential tip line at  (716)-847-2255.
