HAMBURG, N.Y. — Town of Hamburg Police say they've made an arrest in connection to a deadly crash earlier this year.

It happened on February 28 at Route 5 and Lakeview Road.

According to police, 40-year-old Anthony Rydzewski was driving at a high rate of speed when he hit a car being driven by Hamburg Resident Jenny Zuhlke. Zuhlke died from her injuries.

Police say Rydzewski's license was revoked and he was driving someone else's vehicle at the time of the crash.

They also say Rydzewski initially indicated he would work with the investigators and was supposed to go to the police station with his attorney, but later left the state and went to Pennsylvania.

He was recently located by the U.S. Marshals Service at a correctional facility in Crawford County, PA, where he was being held on unrelated charges.

Police say those charges were dismissed and he was extradited back to New York State.

Rydzewski was arraigned on Monday, April 22 and now faces charges of Manslaughter in the Second Degree, Reckless Driving, and Speeding.

He is being held at the Erie County Holding Center without bail.
