Buffalo teen found guilty of murder

A Buffalo teen is facing a max of 50 years to life behind bars after being found guilty for murder and assault.

BUFFALO, NY - A Buffalo teen has been found guilty in the 2016 murder of 22-year-old Laron Watkins.

Erie County District Attorney John Flynn announced Tuesday that Jaylin Wiggins, 19, of Buffalo, has been found guilty of second degree murder, as well as first degree assault and criminal possession of a weapon.

On August 4, 2016, Wiggins seriously injured one person after shooting them on Maple Street in Buffalo.

An hour later that same morning, Wiggins fatally shot Laron Watkins, of Buffalo, on Sherman Street.

Wiggins now faces a maximum of 50 years to life behind bars, when he is sentenced on June 5.
