21-year old Cheektowaga man arrested for sex crimes against children

CLARENCE, N.Y. — New York State Police say they have arrested a Cheektowaga man accused of sex crimes against children. 

Dylan E. Smith, 21,  of Cheektowaga is charged with three counts of Promoting a Sexual Performance by a Child, and three counts of possessing a Sexual Performance by a Child.

The Bureau of Criminal Investigation out of Clarence assisted with a Computer Crimes Unit on the case. An Internet Crimes Against Children investigation was made in the town of Cheektowaga.

The investigation determined that Smith allegedly possessed and distributed child pornography.

Smith was arraigned in Village of Depew court. He is currently being held in the Erie County Holding Center on $10,000 bail. 

The task force of the Internet Crimes Against Children helps both state and local law enforcement agencies to detect the actions of individuals attempting to lure children to meet for sex or those distributing sexual abuse material of children.
