BUFFALO, N.Y. — Many of us transition away from evenings at the bar as we get older. That time has finally come for Bill Regan and Kim Rossi, long-time owners of Mulligan’s Brick Bar in Allentown.

The couple bought the bar in 1998, continuing a tradition that began about a century ago at 229 Allen St., when the building was a speakeasy during Prohibition days and gained and held its liquor license since 1934.

“We are aging out. It’s just time,” said Rossi, who said birthdays in November will bring her to 68 and Regan to 71. “Buffalo’s been amazingly good to us, and the Brick Bar’s been a great adventure for us, but we’re getting old.”
