BUFFALO, N.Y. — Calspan Corp. has completed its acquisition of a Cheektowaga building that will be the new base for high-tech, sled-testing operations.

Calspan, through its Genesee Holdings III LLC affiliate, paid $3.25 million for the 65,360-square-foot building at 40 Sonwil Drive, formerly owned by Sonwil Distribution Center Inc., according to documents filed in the Erie County Clerk’s office.

Calspan is planning a $13.5 million expansion driven by increased client-backed testing of products such as infant seats for vehicles and new dashboard technology. The building is near Calspan headquarters on Genesee Street, across from Buffalo Niagara International Airport.
