How employers handle snowy weather and their business

Whether employees go remote or close completely, here's how they decide.
Snowy weather in downtown Buffalo

BUFFALO, N.Y. — Snow days are a lot easier when you're a kid — enough snow falls, school gets canceled and life is good.

It's trickier for employers, however. If there's snow but no driving ban, do you close? Ask your employees to drive through the storm and report to work, even if it means they might be stuck there at the end of their shift? Close for the day, keeping your employees safe but jeopardizing your bottom line or your customer base?

Business First reached out to local business owners or managers to see how they're approaching that decision. The result? There are almost as many ways to handle it as there are factors that go into the decision-making process.

You can read more about the businesses in our partner's page at Buffalo Business First.
