Golf club property changes hands in $2.8M deal

The site that's home to River Oaks Golf Club has a new owner.

BUFFALO, N.Y. — A property that's home to an Erie County golf club has changed hands.

River Oaks Properties LLC recently sold 201 Whitehaven Road, Grand Island, for $2.8 million to New City River Oaks LLC of Lakewood, New Jersey, based on April 5 filings with the Erie County clerk’s office.

The roughly 191-acre commercial property is home to River Oaks Golf Club.

It’s unclear if the club itself was also sold, separately from the property deal. The owner, through his attorney, did not immediately return Business First’s requests to comment.

Neither the seller nor the buyer’s attorney immediately returned Business First’s requests to comment.

River Oaks, founded in 1972, ranked second in Business First’s most recent list of largest Buffalo private golf courses.
