CHEEKTOWAGA, N.Y. — A manufacturing plant in Arcade announced will close next year and lay off 130 employees.
In a WARN notice filed with the state Department of Labor, API Heat Transfer Inc., which makes heat exchangers and heat transfer solutions, announced it’s closing the plant next year and that the layoffs will begin April 29.
The company, which is headquartered on Walden Avenue in Cheektowaga, employs about 1,100 people across its facilities, including multiple operations in Wisconsin, Germany and China. As of 2019, API employed several hundred people in Cheektowaga.
