New hotel readies late March opening in Niagara Falls

When all is said and done, the delayed project will end up surpassing the $20 million mark.

NIAGARA FALLS, N.Y. — Five years after planning began, the Cambria by Choice is projecting a late March opening in Niagara Falls – possibly in time to take advantage of huge demand for the eclipse.

The 120-room hotel at 311 Rainbow Blvd. is now listed on the Choice Hotels website with a May 1 start for bookings. The hotel – the first new hotel to open in the Falls since 2018 – won’t be able to take reservations until its digital technology systems are finalized, but if that happens at the last minute, there shouldn’t be any trouble finding customers.

“We imagine we’ll be able to sell out,” said developer Frank Strangio.
