GENESEE COUNTY, N.Y. — Edwards Vacuum has started the hiring process for its $319 million factory being built in Genesee County.

The company, which makes dry vacuum pumps for the semiconductor industry, broke ground on the 240,000-square-foot building last month.

“We’re starting recruiting now for the first few manufacturing engineers, and there will be more in the second half of the year,” said Jeff Mickel, project manager for Edwards Vacuum’s Genesee County plant. “It will really start ramping up in the second half of 2025. As the equipment gets installed, we’ll need to have people there of different skill levels.”
