Grand Island getting a new grocery store option

Aldi is nearing a deal to bring a grocery store to Grand Island.

GRAND ISLAND, N.Y. — Aldi is nearing a deal to bring a grocery store to Grand Island, according to broker Rick Recckio, of Recckio Real Estate and Development.

The grocery chain plans to buy 1661 Grand Island Blvd., which houses a small, vacant building that was once an information center for visitors to Niagara Falls.

The 1-acre parcel is owned by 1660 Grand Island Blvd Corp., based in Niagara Falls, according to Erie Count property records.
