AMHERST, N.Y. — A local developer plans to build a 70,000-square-foot self-storage facility in Amherst.

Vick Singh Ghotra, owner of 416Homez, said there's a gap in the market for climate-controlled storage options.

"There's a missing portion of self-storage in the Northtowns, at least with the climate-controlled aspect of the business," he said. "A lot of storage businesses we have here are older, and not climate controlled."

He's proposed building a 70,786-square-foot, single-story building on a vacant lot at 2495 Wehrle Drive.
