Another round of layoffs coming to Buffalo Filter site after ConMed acquisition

Twenty four more people are set to lose their jobs at the factory, according to a layoff notice filed with the state this week.

LANCASTER, N.Y. — It was a hopeful moment last December when Utica-based ConMed Corp. announced plans to acquire Buffalo Filter, the Lancaster-based company that had been founded in 1991 and sold to a private equity firm in 2013.

But 24 more people are set to lose their jobs at the factory, according to a layoff notice filed with the state this week. Most of those cuts are expected to happen on Jan. 3, 2020.   This the second layoff notice ConMed has filed on behalf of the Lancaster site this year.
