$389K worth of products are stolen from 716 Cannabis store

The dispensary is still open. It's now on the hunt to find another location.

BLASDELL, N.Y. — As co-owner, John Duncan sells some of his cannabis products, we ask, what would you do if you saw nearly $400,000 worth of products was stolen from you?

It's what happened to the owners of 716 Cannabis, Ashley Brown and John Duncan. They had $389,000 of products stolen from their dispensary. They don't know what to say about it.

"We walked into the store on the morning of the 29th to find that all of the doors were open, including the vault door, which stored all of our products," Duncan said.

Duncan says the burglary happened on Feb. 29. He says he knows it was an inside job.

The cannabis dispensary is located in the Village of Blasdell, on Electric Avenue. It's the first minority-owned dispensary in the area.

"It's just another battle. For this to happen to the first minority-owned business in Blasdell speaks volumes," Brown said.

2 On Your Side reached out to Blasdell Police, but we're told it's an active investigation. For the time being, they've set up a GoFundMe and are looking for other locations to start over.

The dispensary is still open and running.

"There were 30-something vendors we had in that vault. Those folks have been working very hard for very long, and that was taken from them," Duncan said.
