BUFFALO, N.Y. — The Buffalo City Council has approved a new city budget that includes pay raises for the mayor, council and comptroller.
Council members voted to approve the budget Thursday morning.
Beginning in January 2020, the mayor will make $158,500, roughly a 50% pay raise, city council members will make $75,000 and the city comptroller will make $119,500.
Other additions to the budget include $417,000 for the Buffalo Police Department to purchase furniture and equipment, which included tasers.
