Friday, Jan. 19, is the day we celebrate and honor the snack that can be enjoyed buttered, caramelized or plain.
Although stovetop and microwave popcorn are great, in a Fandango consumer survey, 83% said that movie theater popcorn just tastes better.
Here is where can you can go to satisfy your popcorn urge on the treasured holiday.
Alamo Drafthouse
Alamo Drafthouse will celebrate National Popcorn Day with bowls of free popcorn — with purchase of a ticket and $5 minimum food and beverage purchase.
AMC Theatres
AMC Theatres will celebrate National Popcorn Day by offering ticket-buying guests unlimited refills on all sizes of popcorn all day Friday — and limited edition, popcorn-themed merchandise in theatres and online.
“Consumers equate hot, delicious, fresh popcorn with AMC, so we celebrate by creating attractive offers like unlimited refills we know movie lovers and popcorn lovers alike will want,” said Hank Green, VP – AMC Food and Beverage.
Cinemark
Cinemark is celebrating cinema’s favorite snack by offering all in-theater purchases of medium and large popcorns for $2 off on Friday.
Through Monday, Jan. 22, all who place a mobile concessions order using the Cinemark website or app for in-theater consumption will be entered to win free popcorn and Coke for an entire year.
Cinemark Movie Rewards members will also have a member-only sweepstakes running now through Monday, Jan. 22.
Harkins Theatres
Harkins Theatres will offer guests 50% off all popcorn purchased in-theatre on Friday, including all sizes of Harkins popcorn and take-home Big Party Popcorn.
Harkins Awards Members will also receive Double Points on all in-theatre popcorn purchases on Friday.
Landmark Theatres
Show your Landmark Theatres admission ticket for any show on Friday at the concession stand for a free Economy Popcorn. One free popcorn per ticket.
Marcus Theatres
Marcus Theatres said its Magical Movie Rewards Members will get $5 off any size popcorn on Friday and could win free popcorn for a year.
Regal Cinemas
Regal Cinemas' Crown Club members get a free small popcorn with any ticket purchase on Friday.
If you have a Regal Refillable, you’ll get one free refill on popcorn.
