KeyBank is closing eight branches in Western New York, from Buffalo to the suburbs

KeyBank noted that all consolidated branches are in close proximity to other branches. All client accounts will be automatically transferred to the new location.

BUFFALO, N.Y. — KeyBank is closing eight branches in the Buffalo market – a move that will pare some of the congestion that is a legacy of the First Niagara Financial Group acquisition.

The bank was also looking to cut back on retail facilities across its entire footprint as consumers migrate to digital banking.

KeyBank will still have 56 branches in Erie and Niagara counties, the most of any bank (M&T Bank has 54 branches in the same footprint).  You can read the full list of closures on Buffalo Business First's website
