BUFFALO, N.Y. — The Buffalo Sabres announced on social media Thursday that former goaltender Craig Anderson has been hired by the team to serve as their 'hockey liaison.'

Anderson played the last two seasons of his NHL career in Buffalo, serving as a veteran presence for one of the NHL's youngest rosters.

In an article posted to the Sabres website Thursday afternoon, GM Kevyn Adams said, "Craig Anderson’s voice, experience, and love for the game have been invaluable components to our team’s growth over the past two seasons."

He continued to say, "Our players have benefited greatly from the habits and lessons he picked up during his accomplished 20-year career."

Anderson played 709 games during his career, earning 319 wins in total, 43 shut-outs, and maintaining a .912 save percentage, according to nhl.com.
