Beauts Fall 1-0 in Isobel Cup

The Buffalo Beauts come up just short in their quest for a second consecutive Isobel Cup championship.

NEWARK, NJ- The Metropolitan Riveters won the Isobel Cup Sunday afternoon with a 1-0 win over the Buffalo Beauts. The Beauts were going for their second straight NWHL championship.

Alexa Gruschow scored the only goal of the game in the first period. It was a fabulous individual effort as she was falling down she managed to flip the puck past Buffalo goaltender Amanda Leveille.

Riveters goalie Katie Fitzgerald made the goal stand up stopping all 21 shots on goal. Fitzgerald was named the game's Most Valuable Player.
