Woman killed after hunting accident

Rosemary Billquist died from an accidental shooting in the Town of Sherman.

Chautauqua County, N.Y. -- Rosemary Billquist died from an accidental shooting in the Town of Sherman.

The Chautauqua County Sheriff's Office says Thomas Jadlowski shot 43 year-old Rosemary Billquist.

Deputies say Jadlowski was hunting deer and did not see Billquest walking her dog Wednesday night.

Billquest worked at WCA Hospital. A memorial for her was set up on the bench Rosemary donated to the hospital for patients to rest if need be.

The hunter tried to help her until paramedics arrived, however, Billquist died at UPMC Hamot Hospital.

Deputies say Jadlowski is cooperating with investigators and at this time, no charges have been filed. Jadlowski fired the shot after sunset, which is the legal limit to hunt deer.
