Win tourney game. Add to bandwagon. Sell merch.

Suddenly, everyone's paying attention to the UB Bulls men's basketball team. And it's all good for the Bulls.

Yes, there IS room on the bandwagon… and the U-B Bulls men's basketball team would be

happy to have you.

Long-time supporter and restaurant owner Paul Santora has a hard time explaining what it was like

watching the team Thursday night win its first ever game in NCAA tournament play.

“Last night, I mean they’re not all alumni. People jumped on the bandwagon last night… and

they were… it was a heckuva good time. I can’t explain it. It was exciting.”

The Bulls entered the game substantial underdogs. After defeating Arizona, 89-68 in the first

round of the tournament, things were different on campus. It’s not a place often where students

get revved-up over a team victory. But when the Campus Tees store opened Friday, there was a

blitz of Bulls wear sales.

“Really this morning, after the game last night, it’s been crazy in here. People buying five... ten

shirts at a time,” says employee Megan Sheer.

The store also received on-line orders from Arkansas, Florida, and Texas today.

For years, the athletic department has worked to grow the fan base to make the Bulls more than

the university’s team, to turn it into Buffalo’s college team.

Lingering at "the dance”, can’t hurt.
