BUFFALO, NY - The Goo Goo Dolls released their first album 30 years ago. Over those 3 decades, the band has had its ups and downs. The early years marked by starts and stops, and inner-turmoil that led to replacing their original drummer and changing record labels.
They finally gained national traction with the hit song "Name", and never looked back.
Robby Takac sat down with 2 On Your Side's Pete Gallivan to reflect on 3 decades a Goo Goo Doll, the early years as a punk rock teenager from West Seneca, what it's like to juggle the roles of rock star and husband and dad. Ever the optimist, he also beams as he talks about the turn around of his hometown.
