Owner of demolished Ellicott Street building to sell properties

Bruce Adler of New Jersey, has agreed to sell that property and his seven remaining properties in Buffalo to Legacy Development.

BUFFALO, N.Y. — On Friday, City of Buffalo officials provided an update on the building that partially collapsed and had to be demolished on Ellicott Street earlier this month.

Mayor Byron Brown said the owner of that building, 72-year-old Bruce Adler of New Jersey, has agreed to sell that property and his seven remaining properties in Buffalo to Legacy Development.

The buyers say the properties are in prime locations but in rough shape.

"Their condition is deplorable. They've been allowed to deteriorate for many years, and we hope to be able to correct that," said Frank Chinnici, the Legacy Development president and CEO.

Adler has also agreed to pay $105,000 to cover the costs of this month's emergency demolition.
