BUFFALO, N.Y. — Wintertime is always a tough one for local hospitals and blood banks because of lower donations.
The Red Cross says it's dealing with a shortage this winter with 27,000 fewer donations than they needed over the weeks of Christmas and New Year's Day.
They're especially looking for platelet donors and Type O blood.
