GRAND ISLAND, NY-- The Erie County Sheriff's Office is asking for the public's help in connection with a 2017 homicide.
Investigators say they were called to the Country Glenn Apartments on Bedell Road on Grand Island March 11, 2017 for a first aid call.
They transported a victim, Cheryl Mayes, 38, to Kenmore Mercy Hospital. Mayes later died of her injuries.
The sheriff's office says they have a person of interest, but are looking to gather more information and evidence.
