Scientists Detect a Black Hole Swallowing a Neutron Star For First Time

A team, including the Australian National University, detected ripples in space and time from a violent event that occurred 900 million years ago, and say it's incredibly likely the black hole gobbled up a neutron star, 'possibly snuffing out the star instantly.'
