What it's like driving down one of Buffalo's lowest rated streets

After prying loose the Buffalo Public Works Department's ratings for the city's streets, 2 On-Your-Side take you for  ride down one of the lowest graded byways. Buckle up. It's bumpy.

The speed limit for the city of Buffalo is 30 mph.

If you're driving down Wilson Street, you may want to go slower than that.

The street is in bad shape. There are waves, dips and bumps that make sections of Wilson difficult to control a vehicle. According to the grading system used by Buffalo's Public Works Department, Wilson is rated a 3 out of 10. That means, in the eyes of the department, the road is in "very poor condition".

Earlier this year, DPW Commissioner Steven Stepniak said in a news conference that each streets is walked, examined and given a grade. The grades help city officials determine which streets get repair work.

Mayor Brown acknowledged in the very same news conference that the city did not have enough money to tackle repairs on every street that needed it.

If you'd like to see the city map showing the grades for Buffalo's streets, you can find it here.

Please let 2 On Your Side know if you think there's a Buffalo street that is underrated, or perhaps overrated.
