TOWN OF TONWANDA, NY — The pedestrian bridge over Sheridan Drive has been closed for two years. Now, the footbridge near Delaware Avenue is coming down.
The Tonawanda Town Board voted Monday night to demolish it. Town officials will start looking for project bids next month.
It was closed because officials say it was unsafe for people to walk across and fixing it could cost more than a million dollars.
