BUFFALO, N.Y. — Temperatures have warmed significantly overnight. A mix of snow, sleet and freezing rain will likely affect the morning commute.
A Winter Weather Advisory has been issued for all counties in WNY and northern Pennsylvania.
- Niagara, Orleans, Erie, Genesee, Wyoming, Cattaraugus, Chautauqua, McKean and Potter Counties are under the advisory until 2 p.m. Wednesday.
- Allegany County's warning will last a bit longer, until 3 p.m.
All counties will see the possibility of up to 0.10" of sleet and freezing rain
Temperatures are rising across Western New York with many areas 30° warmer than where we were 24 hours ago. A wintry mix of precipitation.
The greatest threat of ice will be across the Southern Tier where colder air will get trapped in the valleys a little bit longer. All of WNY will see rain by later Wednesday morning and into the after. Many areas could get between a third and a half inch of rain.
High temperatures will be in the low to mid 40's, which is a significant warm-up from yesterday's frigid temperatures.
Colder air will move in Thursday and Friday setting up of some areas to see about a foot of lake effect snow, mostly south of Buffalo.
