A Winter Weather Advisory will be in effect through 10 p.m. Tuesday for much of Western New York. Areas of freezing drizzle are possible. Drivers should anticipate slick roads for the evening commute.

Air temperatures are high enough Tuesday afternoon for drizzle to mix in with some wet snow flakes. While the snow is not expected to accumulate, some icy patches might develop. Pavement temperatures are in the 20s. That means drivers should assume that wet roads are slick during Tuesday evening's commute.

The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for the expected icy conditions. Niagara, Orleans, Genesee, Wyoming and Erie counties are included in the advisory, which expired Tuesday evening.

After that, snow showers are likely early Wednesday morning through midday with some accumulation and a gusty west breeze. Another system could bring some light accumulation Thursday night into Friday and we are still keeping tabs on a possible major snowfall for the Northeast this weekend.
