Holimont opening Friday for ski season

Holimont will have several trails open starting Friday, December 14.

The ski season is definitely here with another local ski resort expected to open Friday, December 14.

Holiday Valley has been open since the day after Thanksgiving, and Peek'n Peak Resort is also open.

And now Holimont is set to open its ski season Friday, and with a $29 priced lift ticket. Next week skiers will $42 for a lift ticket, and then prices will to normal cost of $62 a lift ticket.

"We are open to the public Monday to Friday. We will have 2 lifts running with 5 perfectly groomed trails," said Greg Culver, the Holimont Marketing Director.

And even with the warm up coming up over the weekend, Culver said they have plenty of snow.

"Every window we had to make snow we kicked our machine into gear. We have about 3 feet of base," he said. "The base that we have and the piles that we accumulated, we should be able to withstand pretty good warm ups."

Holimont usually runs its ski season through the second week of April.

Kissing Bridge, according to its website, is open on Friday through this weekend.

Buffalo Ski Club, now known as the Buffalo Ski Center, has a target opening date of the day after Christmas.
