Sunday's Bills-Vikings game could be the first with snow this season

Get ready, Bills Mafia, this one is going to be chilly.

BUFFALO, N.Y. — It's no secret that this weekend is going to be much colder than last weekend here in Western New York.

Lake-enhanced rain and snow showers are in the forecast for Sunday with the better chance of those south of the city Sunday, including Orchard Park. While it does not look like a classic, heavy snow lake effect scenario will set up over Highmark Stadium, scattered lake showers will move in and out of the region on Sunday beginning in the morning and lasting through the evening.

So that said, anyone heading to the Bills-Vikings game at Highmark Stadium should be prepared for light rain, snow and colder temperatures. The temperature Sunday morning will start in the low 30s as the first snow showers of the day move into the Southtowns. Those will continue off and on, eventually transitioning to a rain/snow mix later in the afternoon as temperatures rise into the upper 30s but a wind chill will make it feel even colder than that.

Precipitation will be mainly light, but some heavier pocket of snow or wintry mix cant be ruled out. Snow accumulations shouldn't be much of a factor for the game, but areas around the stadium could pick up to about an inch or two total by Sunday night.
