BUFFALO, N.Y. — A Winter Weather Advisory lasts until 7 a.m. Saturday for Erie, Niagara, Wyoming, Genesee, Orleans, Cattaraugus and Allegany counties. 4 to 6 inches of snow, upwards of 7, is expected and will accumulate throughout Friday. This could lead to slippery or snow covered roads throughout the day.

A Winter Storm Warning lasts until 7 a.m. Saturday for Chautauqua County; 6-11 inches of snow is possible with the highest totals along the Chautauqua ridge.

By 9 p.m. Friday, those widespread snow showers from Friday afternoon and evening brought around 3 to 5 inches of snow to much of Western New York, upwards of 7 to 8 inches across the Chautauqua Ridge. Snow showers are fizzling out Friday night, but a few flurries and light snow showers are possible Saturday morning. An additional dusting to 2 inches of snow is possible Friday night, upwards of 3 for the Chautauqua ridge.

Anticipate reduced visibility and snow covered to slippery road conditions throughout Friday night. This is a fairly fast moving system, so snow showers will dissipate and move out overnight Friday and into Saturday morning.
