AMHERST, N.Y. — Amherst drivers need to be aware of lane closures happening Saturday.
The New York State Department of Transportation (NYSDOT) announced that bridge deck repair will take place on I-290 over I-990 in the town of Amherst. The work will require lane closures.
Repairs will start at 8 a.m. closing the right lanes on eastbound I-290 from Niagara Falls Boulevard (US Route 62) to Millersport Highway (NY Route 263). Lanes are expected to reopen to traffic at 4:30 p.m.
Drivers should allow for extra travel time. The work is weather-sensitive and could be delayed in the event of inclement weather.
Amherst motorists are reminded to slow down and drive responsibly in work zones.
