CITY OF TONAWANDA, N.Y. — The City of Tonawanda Mayor has issued an executive order banning trucks from using a portion of Young Street in an effort to prevent trucks from crashing into a bridge.
Mayor Rick Davis issued the order Thursday morning.
Trucks are banned on Young Street from the Fremont Street bridge to the Vietnam Veterans Twin City Memorial Highway (VVTCMH) on/off ramp.
This order comes after there were three accidents in three weeks involving tractor trailers hitting a bridge on Young Street.
Police will be stepping up patrols to enforce the ban.
