Batavia to reinstate overnight parking rules

The city says that effective September 1, 2020, officers will begin to ticket vehicles that are parked on the streets between the hours of 2 a.m. and 6 a.m.

BATAVIA, N.Y. — The City of Batavia announced Thursday morning they will begin to enforce overnight parking rules in city streets.

The city says that effective September 1, 2020, officers will begin to ticket vehicles that are parked on the streets between the hours of 2 a.m. and 6 a.m. This enforcement is in accordance with section 178-13 of the City of Batavia Municipal Code.

For the remainder of the month of August, officers will continue to issue warnings to give residents a heads-up.

Overnight parking tickets were suspended due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
