BUFFALO - The Sabres win streak could hit double digits Tuesday night.
A win over the San Jose Sharks would be Buffalo's tenth straight. That would match a franchise record which was last reached in 2006. That Sabres team went on to win the President's Trophy as the NHL's top team in the regular season.
This group is far exceeding expectations to this point. The Sabres have a group of young talent led by captain Jack Eichel. GM Jason Botterill added some key pieces in the offseason. Jeff Skinner, who currently is second in the NHL with 18-goals tops that list along with goaltender Carter Hutton.
As of Monday night, the Sabres were second in the league and division standings with 34-points.
