BUFFALO, N.Y. — The Stanley Cup Champion Tampa Bay Lightning won a 24-team playoff that was conducted in bubble environments in Edmonton and Toronto. In the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic and questions about fans being able to attend games, there have been questions as to when the NHL will be able to begin a new season.
Commissioner Gary Bettman made the announcement before the start of the NHL draft on Tuesday night, that the league is targeting January 1, 2021 to begin a new season.
