Bills clean out lockers after gut-wrenching wild card loss

A day later, Buffalo's players looked back at game and ahead to next season. Despite the loss, there is optimism about the team's future.

ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. — Less than 24 hours after having their season ended in heartbreaking fashion, the Bills were back in Orchard Park on Sunday morning cleaning out their lockers.

While the sense of disappointment at a missed opportunity was all around the room, center Mitch Morse said right now its all how you deal with the disappointment.

"I think you have two ways to deal with it," Morse said. "You can kind of dig a hole, and kind of crawl in it, or you can kind of learn from it. It's easier to crawl in a hole and say, 'Well, it's not my fault,' or all this stuff. But the truth of the matter is, there's a handful of plays I'd like back that probably could have changed the course of the game."

Despite the loss there is great optimism about the future for the team. Veteran running back Frank Gore praised the front office.

"Beane, (general manager Brandon Beane), coach (Sean) McDermott, they did a great job. This team has a lot of young talent. I think they've put themselves in position the top dogs in this division for a couple of years," Gore said, adding that he hasn't made any decisions on his NFL future.

Defensive end Shaq Lawson and guard Quinton Spain are among the players who can become free agents.
