High School Football Team Updates & Predictions: Week 4

Dick Gallagher gives some team updates and predictions for Class A, A-1 & A-2 after week 4 of high school football.

BUFFALO, N.Y. — Class AA

Bennett needs healthy players to compete in the playoffs.

Clarence Red Devil’s one-dimensional offense needs to improve if they want to be at the stadium.

Frontier Falcons will be strong in 2020.

Hutch-Tech might not make the playoffs this season.

Jamestown’s Drake, Van Sickle and Tomkins will be a force in the playoffs this year.

Lancaster will be a contender for a 4th consecutive section title.

Lockport Lions have the offense but little on the defensive side of the ball. 

Orchard Park with Sharpe leading the offense and Pataky leading the Defense can win it all. They need the rushing game to improve in October and November.

Class A-1

Kenmore West with Boyes will be in the playoffs this season.

McKinley will be a force in the playoffs.

Niagara Wheatfield will be out of the playoffs this season.

West Seneca West’s offense needs to improve to be a force in the playoffs.

North Tonawanda has had a disappointing season and will not make the playoffs this year.

Hamburg has a chance to make the big dance this year.

Williamsville North should make the playoffs but the offense struggles without a rushing game.

Williamsville East is struggling this season. Mike Torrillo doesn’t have the horses this season. They will not make the playoffs.

Class A-2

South Park is a favorite to win the title averaging 50 points a game. They also have a physical and athletic defense.

Kenmore East will not make the playoffs this year.

Amherst will not make the playoffs this year.

Starpoint with Carlson, Marcus and Dean will drive the Spartans in the playoffs.

Sweet Home is thriving with Lucas being the most explosive player in Western New York. The Panthers could be a major force in the playoffs.

West Seneca East have a shot at making the playoffs. We will see what the end results will be with their match-ups against Kenmore East and Williamsville South.  

Williamsville South has a tough schedule remaining playing Williamsville East in week 6 and South Park in week 7.

Grand Island has a key game ahead in week 6 versus Starpoint.
