Joe Carlson, Starpoint is one of the most versatile athletes playing football this season.

Class act Connor Desiderio, Maryvale SR QB, gave up the captaincy to a game to another player who was going for surgery and would not be able to play again in his senior season.  He wanted the player to enjoy the experience in his last game.

Al Cavagnaro, Starpoint head football coach who will retire after 2019 has a 98-84-0 record in 19 years for the Sparts.  Remaining games for week 6 at home at Lockport.

WNY Athletics with Frank Wolf are to be congratulated for the excellent job they are doing to recognize high school sports boys and girls players, teams, and coaches.  They are a first class organization and a gift to WNY student athletes and teams.

With the Red Raiders win over St. Joe’s, week 8’s Friday night game at St. Francis vs. Canisius will decide the 1st round bye. If St. Francis wins they get 1st seed.

Adam Krenning, Albion Head Coach has been selected for week 4 as the Buffalo Bills Coach of the Year.

Spectrum’s game for week 6 is Orchard Park at Lancaster on Friday, October 11th at 7pm.

Amherst Tigers had an exciting win over Sweet Home.  Nick O’Neil and Anthony McCarley, who transferred from St. Joe’s, were keys to the victory.

Due to the injury to Starpoint’s Carson Marcus, All-WNY candidate Joe Carlsonwas forced to play QB.  His receiving stats are off the charts and playing QB should not prevent him from the All-WNY 1ST team as a WR or utility standout.

Jason Mansell, Lancaster JR QB has passed for 732 yards, 12 TDs while rushing for 114 yards and 1 TD.

Shawn Davis, Lancaster SR WR has caught 27 passes for 287 yards and 4 TDs.
