The Crusaders will play St. Francis. Timon/St. Jude will play at 3pm at University at Buffalo for the League B title vs. St. Mary’s.

Derek Landri, St. Joe’s coach is 1-5 in the rivalry series and 22-21 overall since 2016.

If Tyler Clearly was eligible to play against Clymer/Sherman/Panama, could there have been a more competitive game?

Tywon Wright, Southwestern senior RB and a transfer from Dunkirk had an outstanding game, rushing for 356 yards and 5 touchdowns. The record for the most rushing yards in a sectional title game is 363 yards by Cattaraugus/Little Valley.

Lancaster’s front 7 were the starts of the Legends’ victory.

Give the Lakemen a round of applause for hustling on every play. They left everything on the field. Kudos to Bill Atlas and the coaching staff.

The 33rd annual WNY High School Football Awards Banquet is scheduled to be held on December 28th at 12:30pm at Classics V on Niagara Falls Boulevard. John Murphy will be the emcee.

Nomination forms for the All-WNY Academic football team have been mailed to all coaches. Criteria for selection is that all nominees must have a 90 GPA or better, they must be a senior and they must be a starter or important reserve. For additional information contact Dick Gallagher.

Why did the Bills refuse to let the teams use the locker rooms for the games? Our tax dollars built this stadium. Ridiculous decision.

The kicking game continued to be terrible although Tom Hollender and Clark Whiteside kicked 30 yard field goals.

Blake Haubeil, former All-WNY kicker from Canisius is the field goal kicker for Ohio State. In 27 games he has kicked 10 of 13 field goals and 37 for 37 PATS. Amazing career. The junior will be in the NFL. His brother, Beau Haubeil, will be a junior at Amherst and will be one of the top kickers in 2020.
