2019 Class B-2 Preview

Flyers have a 13-5 record in the past 2 seasons and will compete for league title with 4 starters returning on both sides of the ball and talent from 7-1 JV team. They have All-WNY candidates in QB Connor Desiderio, Paul Donohue, Deondre Rice, Donovan McCoy and Jaedon Bice. They open at Cleveland Hill and play Burgard at Riverside in week 2. Strength will be play of QB Desiderio, They return 8 players this year. Key to season will be the play of line.

Chiefs were young last season. They return 17 starters and should compete for a playoff berth. They host Timon in the opener and play at Medina in week 2. They have several All-WNY candidates in Riley Perillo, Evan Kingston, Noah Kedge and Ryan Current. They return 19 players this season. Other key players include Casey Phillips, Kayden Larivey and Harrison Justice. Key to the season will be the play of line and QB. They should be in the playoffs.

Charlie Comerford in his first year for the Commodores were 2-6. Expect his squad to compete for a playoff berth this season. They have All-WNY candidates in Addison Copeland and Teryon Vernon. Other key players include Demetrius Potts and John Washington. They open at Cheektowaga and Dunkirk in their first 2 games. Key to the season will be the play of the QB. They return 25 players this year. Copeland has a scholarship offer from BYU.

The Mustang JV team have a 13-3 record in the past 2 seasons and should be competitive in 2019. They have an All-WNY candidate in Brian Fry. Other key players include Jarin Rhim, Emmanuel Taylor, Tyler Chinn, Lincoln Pace and Bobby Geiger. They will miss Izaiah Rhim. They open with Lew-Port and Iroquois in their first 2 games. They return 17 players this year. Key to the season will be the play of the line. Fry recorded 72 tackles, 2 sacks and 1163 all purpose yards. He is also an excellent baseball player.

Marauders look to rebuild for 2019 as Mike Sarratori returns only 3 starters on offense and 1 on defense. The team was 13-4 in the past 2 years. Key players include Phil Messina, Adrien Washington, Peyton Ahlstrom and Alex Ahlstrom. 14 players graduated, and 3 players transferred. They open with Olean and WNY Maritime. Tywon Wright and Conrad Thomas transferred to Southwestern. They return 7 players this year.
